The highly anticipated film Project K, starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, is generating significant buzz in the industry. The star-studded cast of the pan-Indian film is rumoured to be expanding with the potential addition of legendary actor Kamal Haasan. Reports suggest that Kamal Haasan is being considered for an important role in the sci-fi film, possibly as the antagonist.

While discussions are underway, no official confirmation has been made regarding Kamal Haasan’s involvement in Project K. The makers have approached the iconic Tamil superstar to lock horns with Prabhas on the silver screen. Talks are ongoing, and further details regarding the role and character are yet to be revealed.

According to recent reports, Kamal Haasan has been offered a staggering remuneration of Rs 150 crores for his potential role in Project K. If the deal materializes, the actor is expected to dedicate 20 days to the shooting of his portions of the film. However, it is important to note that these salary figures remain unverified at this time.

Project K, written and directed by Nag Ashwin, features Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani in important roles. Backed by Vyjayanthi Movies, this sci-fi thriller boasts a massive budget of around Rs 500 crores, making it one of the highest-budgeted movies in Indian cinema. Project K is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 12, 2024, coinciding with the festival of Sankranthi.

Interestingly, Project K will be a two-part film, with the vision and plot points being so vast that the makers have decided to split the narrative into two instalments. The first part will establish the world and conflict of this magnum opus, while the second part will delve into the full-fledged drama, similar to the structure seen in the Baahubali franchise.

During these discussions, Kamal Haasan has also begun shooting for his upcoming film featuring silver bullet sequences in Chennai. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Red Giant Movies, the project boasts an ensemble cast that includes Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Gulshan Grover, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, and others.

As the industry eagerly awaits further updates on Project K, the potential collaboration between Kamal Haasan and the film’s stellar team adds to the excitement surrounding this ambitious venture in Indian cinema.
