Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to Collaborate After 40 Years? Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Next Big Film

After the success of Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which became a blockbuster at the box office, the director is reportedly preparing for another big project featuring none other than the two megastars of Tamil cinema—Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. The duo, who last worked together 46 years ago in Allauddinum Albhutha Vilakkum (1979), are set to reunite for a high-octane gangster action film.

According to OTTplay, Kamal Haasan has begun discussions with Rajinikanth for this massive project, with talks now at an advanced stage. The film, which is expected to be produced under the banner of Raaj Kamal Films International, will center around two aged gangsters, though no official announcement has been made yet.

Although Lokesh Kanagaraj was reportedly in talks for Kaithi 2 with Karthi or a superhero film with Aamir Khan, current buzz indicates that he may prioritise this film featuring both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth first. Additionally, Lokesh is also working on Vikram 2, continuing the lineup within the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). He will also produce Rolex for Suriya and is involved in the production of Benz, another LCU film, while making his acting debut with Arun Matheswaran’s next film.
