After several shifts in the release timeline, Prabhas’ much-anticipated horror-comedy The Raja Saab is finally on the fast track toward completion. Originally slated for an April 2025 release, the film faced delays owing to extended VFX work and unresolved post-production challenges. Subsequent reshoots and fine-tuning further pushed the schedule.

However, recent updates suggest that things are back on course.

According to a new report by India Today, Prabhas is set to complete filming for The Raja Saab by October 2025. A close source revealed, “There was a brief pause in production due to a union strike, but shooting has now resumed. What’s left are a few important scenes and three songs, all of which are scheduled to be wrapped up within the next two months.”

The source further added, “This is one of the most tightly planned shoots Prabhas has committed to. The entire schedule from now until October is mapped out meticulously. While filming concludes, post-production and VFX are being handled in parallel to ensure no further hold-ups.”

Prabhas has a busy slate ahead — with Fauji also lined up, followed by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’. The team’s strategy is clear: finish The Raja Saab and Fauji efficiently so Prabhas can fully commit to Spirit without creative distractions.

Release Date Update:

While The Raja Saab was earlier announced to release on December 5, 2025, new reports suggest that the team is now considering a Sankranti 2026 release. A senior distribution executive shared, “Sankranti is the perfect window for a star like Prabhas. It offers a prime festive run at the box office, avoids unnecessary competition, and suits the film’s genre and scale.”

About the Film:

The Raja Saab marks Prabhas’ first full-blown entry into the horror-comedy space. Promising a mix of supernatural thrills and nostalgic charm, the film showcases the actor in a refreshing, never-seen-before avatar. Given the unique genre and big-screen appeal, expectations are soaring.
