JD Chakravarthi Opens Up About Career Choices: “Without Gulabi, I Wouldn’t Have Had a Career”

Talented actor JD Chakravarthi, who gained fame through the iconic film “Shiv,” recently shared some intriguing insights into his career choices and the pivotal role that the movie “Gulabi” played in shaping his journey in the film industry. The versatile actor, who was recently seen in the web series “Daya” streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from July 4, delved into his past experiences and how a particular film proved to be a turning point in his career.

JD Chakravarthi, fondly known as JD, revealed during an interview that he finds himself drawn to acting out of a profound passion for the craft. He expressed, “I am driven by the joy of acting. My introduction to Director Varma happened because of my enthusiasm for the craft. From then on, I embarked on this path.”

Recalling some of his remarkable films, JD candidly shared the significant influence of the film “Gulabi” on his career. He said, “In the movies I did, ‘Egire Pavurama,’ ‘Bombay Priyudu,’ and ‘Prema Kuvaa’ also, I showed the same enthusiasm. But the reason behind my recognition was ‘Gulabi.'”

“Gulabi,” directed by Krishna Vamsi, was a turning point in JD Chakravarthi’s career, garnering him widespread acclaim for his impactful performance. The movie’s success and JD’s portrayal of Raghuendra Rao earned him immense popularity and established him as a talented actor in the Telugu film industry.

In the interview, JD Chakravarthi expressed his gratitude towards the producer Varma, who played a pivotal role in launching his career. “If it were not for Varma, I wouldn’t have had a career. If it were not for ‘Gulabi,’ my career wouldn’t exist,” he said, acknowledging the film’s significance in his journey.

JD Chakravarthi’s recent release, the web series “Daya,” has been receiving positive responses from viewers on Disney Plus Hotstar. The actor’s portrayal of a character with shades of grey in the web series has earned him critical acclaim once again.
