Popular Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda‘s upcoming film, tentatively titled VD12, has been officially launched with a formal pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. The project is being helmed by Gautam Tinnanuri, who previously directed the critically acclaimed sports drama Jersey. The female lead in the film is played by actress Sreeleela. Several photos from the launch event have surfaced on social media, causing a buzz among fans.

The Arjun Reddy actor is rumoured to be playing the role of a police officer in VD12, which would be his first time donning the khaki uniform on screen. The film is being produced by Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas. The cast and crew details have not been revealed yet, but sources suggest that well-known celebrities from the film industry are being considered for key roles.

Earlier, Vijay Deverakonda had announced VD12 with director Parasuram, but due to unknown reasons, the project did not materialise. It was rumoured that Allu Aravind was upset with Parasuram for announcing his next project with Vijay under Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateshwara Productions. Parasuram was said to have taken a huge sum from Allu Aravind and also committed to directing the sequel of the blockbuster film Geetha Govindam under Geetha Arts. However, as Dil Raju offered him double the money, he agreed to do a movie with Vijay Deverakonda.

Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming romantic entertainer, Kushi, is also highly anticipated. The film stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and is directed by Shiva Nirvana. Mythri Movie Makers is producing the project.
