Hyderabad: Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) recently took to social media platform X to express his awe at the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI). Sharing an AI-generated music video featuring the late actress Silk Smitha, RGV praised the technology and its ability to reimagine the iconic star. “What can AI not do? SILK SMITHA never looked more BEAUTIFUL,” he wrote, referring to the video created by ‘Multiversematrix.’

The music video depicts Silk Smitha in various imaginative avatars, including as an equestrian, a pilot, a car driver, an Indian goddess, and even as superheroes. The creative tribute resonated with audiences online, who lauded the effort with comments like “nicely done” and “A beautiful tribute to Silk Smitha.”

Silk Smitha, whose real name was Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati, was a celebrated actress and dancer who made her mark in Tamil and Telugu cinema. With over 450 films to her credit, she gained immense fame for her bold and unforgettable screen presence. Tragically, she died by suicide in 1996, leaving a lasting void in Indian cinema.
