The three-day-long G20 summit commenced on Monday, with a special focus on “Film Tourism for Economic and Cultural Preservation.” The event witnessed the participation of esteemed personalities, including G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, and popular actor Ram Charan. The presence of Ram Charan at the summit garnered significant attention, particularly due to his performance and remarks on Kashmir.

During the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting, Ram Charan captivated the audience by performing the song “Naatu Naatu” alongside South Korea’s ambassador to India, Jae Bok Chang. The mesmerizing act quickly caught the internet’s attention, earning widespread acclaim.

Additionally, Ram Charan actively engaged in a panel discussion, where he shared his connection to Kashmir. Reflecting on his father, superstar Chiranjeevi’s extensive shooting experiences in Gulmarg and Sonamarg since 1986, Ram Charan expressed his fondness for the region. He reminisced, “I’ve shot in this auditorium in 2016. This place has something magical. It is such a surreal feeling coming to Kashmir; it draws the attention of everyone.”

Ram Charan’s presence and heartfelt remarks shed light on the immense tourism potential of Kashmir. His involvement in the G20 summit further underscores the growing recognition of Indian cinema on global platforms. This year, the actor attained international acclaim through the monumental success of the film “RRR,” directed by SS Rajamouli. Notably, “RRR” created history as the first Indian feature film to win an Oscar, with the song “Naatu Naatu” securing the award in the Best Original Song category. The track showcases Ram Charan and his co-star Jr NTR delivering awe-inspiring dance performances.

The G20 summit is an annual gathering dedicated to addressing global challenges, primarily in the realms of economics, finance, and global governance. As India presides over this international forum, it chose Kashmir as the host for the Tourism Working Group meeting, marking the first significant international event in the region since the revocation of Article 370 in 2019.

Ram Charan’s involvement in the G20 summit not only showcases his star power but also emphasizes the potential of film tourism in promoting cultural preservation and economic growth. His notable contributions at the summit contribute to the broader goal of harnessing the power of cinema to drive global engagement and create opportunities for diverse communities.
