KV Vijayendra Prasad denies reports of Mahesh Babu playing character based on Hanuman in SSMB 28

Superstar Mahesh Babu has been in the new for his much-anticipated film, tentatively titled SSMB 28. The film is being directed by SS Rajamouli. This actor-director duo has created a lot of buzz among netizens, making them super excited. Such huge projects are usually targets for rumours.

Recently, it was making headlines that Mahesh Babu is playing a character based on Hanuman in Rajamouli’s next project to be shot in the jungles in various parts of the world. An enterprising portal had made up this story.

Filmmaker Rajamouli’s father KV Vijayendra Prasad, who is the writer of the Mahesh Babu project, has denied any such ‘mythologization’. “No, his character is not based on Lord Hanuman, or any mythological character,” said Vijayendra Prasad.

A source close to the project added, “Only Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli have been decided. Any other addition to the cast or crew you read about is manufactured. Mahesh Babu plays a contemporary character in a the fast-paced jungle adventure.”
