Mumbai, India The highly anticipated sci-fi film ‘Project K’ by director Nag Ashwin has made headlines once again as veteran actor Kamal Haasan joins the stellar cast alongside Prabhas. After earlier reports suggesting Kamal Haasan’s potential involvement, the makers have now confirmed his role in the film, adding to the excitement surrounding the project. As a result, the budget for ‘Project K’ has skyrocketed, making it the most expensive Indian film ever made.

According to recent Reddit discussions, Kamal Haasan is reportedly being paid Rs 20 crore for his role, while Prabhas commands a staggering Rs 150 crore as the film’s lead. Co-stars Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan are said to be receiving Rs 10 crores and Rs 20 crores, respectively. With production costs totalling Rs 400 crores, the film’s remuneration expenses alone amount to Rs 200 crores, pushing the overall budget to an astounding Rs 600 crores.

The Reddit discussions have sparked debates about Prabhas’ hefty fee, particularly in light of his recent film ‘Adipurush’ underperforming at the box office. Some users expressed their belief that Prabhas should not be charging such a substantial amount, given the lacklustre performance of his recent projects. One user pointed out, “150 crores is insane. There’s no reason that Prabhas should be charging that much, especially after giving flop after flop.” Another user echoed similar sentiments, stating, “In no way should Prabhas get this much. How can producers give this much after ‘Adipurush’?”

It is worth noting that ‘Project K’ is rumoured to be a two-part film due to its intricate plot, with the first part, focused on establishing the immersive world and introducing the central characters. The second part will delve deeper into the unfolding drama. The first installment, currently in the pre-production stage, is scheduled for release on January 12 next year.

‘Project K’ marks the collaboration of acclaimed actors Kamal Haasan and Prabhas, setting the stage for an exciting clash between their characters. With the addition of Kamal Haasan and the record-breaking budget, anticipation for the film continues to soar. Fans eagerly await further updates and glimpses into this ambitious sci-fi extravaganza.
