“Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas in the lead role, has captured widespread attention since its theatrical release. Audiences have been enamored by its cinematic brilliance and eagerly anticipate the sequel. Amidst speculation surrounding “Kalki 2898 AD Part 2,” producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt have confirmed that filming is scheduled to commence in early 2025.

This exciting update was shared during the prestigious Moscow International Film Week, where “Kalki 2898 AD” is being prominently featured. According to a report from HashtagU, the Dutt sisters stated, “Filming will begin in the next five or six months, around January or February 2025. Once production starts, we’ll have more details to share.”

Swapna Dutt expressed renewed enthusiasm for the sequel, noting a shift from apprehension to excitement. “For the first part, we were all guided by Nag Ashwin’s vision. Often, you don’t fully comprehend things until you see them visually. Now having seen Nag’s creative vision and understanding the audience’s reception, we approach Part 2 with a different energy,” she elaborated.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nag Ashwin, “Kalki 2898 AD” features a stellar cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. The epic sci-fi, released on June 27, 2024, draws inspiration from Hindu epics like the Mahabharata and the prophecy of Lord Vishnu’s avatar, Kalki, set against a futuristic backdrop from the end of the Mahabharata’s Kurukshetra War, marking the onset of the Kali Yuga in 3102 BC.

Upon its pan-Indian release, “Kalki 2898 AD” smashed box office records and achieved instant commercial success. Alongside the leading cast, Nag Ashwin’s direction showcases Disha Patani, Rajendra Prasad, Shobhana, Saswata Chatterjee, and others in pivotal roles.

Furthermore, the film includes cameo appearances by Ram Gopal Varma, Raja Mouli, Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur, and Dulquer Salmaan. The producers have affirmed that “Kalki 2898 AD Part 2” will see the return of the original cast in their respective roles. Recently, the blockbuster made its digital debut on August 22, available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam with English subtitles on Amazon, while the Hindi version streams on Netflix.
