Janhvi Kapoor, the talented Bollywood actress, recently shared her thoughts on the prevalence of PR and marketing strategies in the entertainment industry. Janhvi expressed her belief in prioritising good work over excessive publicity.

The actress, who has been receiving widespread acclaim for her exceptional performance as Nisha Dixit in the film “Bawaal” opposite Varun Dhawan, discussed the pressure to conform to the loud and demanding world of marketing and PR in the industry. She admitted that there is an intrinsic fear of being left unnoticed if one doesn’t indulge in constant promotion and publicity.

Janhvi Kapoor courageously stated, “My work is enough,” emphasizing the importance of staying true to one’s craft and talent. However, she also confessed that she has wavered at times due to the overwhelming PR-driven culture that surrounds her.

When asked about her approach to PR and marketing, Janhvi acknowledged that she has been told that she lacks adequate PR efforts. She reflected on the notion prevalent in the industry that posts a film’s release, the conversations revolve around the idea that there’s no such thing as a bad film, only bad marketing.

During the conversation, Varun Dhawan playfully interrupted, inquiring about the source of such advice. Janhvi evaded revealing names but admitted that multiple people have given her similar suggestions.

The discussion continued as Janhvi Kapoor recounted an incident related to her film “Mili.” Despite receiving critical acclaim for her performance, the movie did not perform well at the box office. To tackle this situation, she was advised to highlight the positive reviews and create promotional content showcasing praise for her acting, in an attempt to shift focus from the film’s underwhelming box office earnings.

“Bawaal,” directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is a heartwarming tale of love and relationships set against the backdrop of Lucknow’s charming streets. The film, released on Prime Video on July 21, has been receiving positive reviews from both audiences and critics.

Janhvi Kapoor’s perspective on prioritising good work over excessive PR sheds light on the intricacies of the entertainment industry and the challenges faced by artists. Her commitment to her craft and talent continues to garner appreciation from fans and industry peers alike.
