Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has been making headlines recently, but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. The 79-year-old actor recently sustained a serious injury to his rib cage while shooting for his upcoming film “Project K” in Hyderabad.
The incident occurred during an action sequence, where Bachchan was supposed to execute a high-intensity fight scene. However, things went awry, and the actor ended up breaking his rib cartilage and suffering a muscle tear in his right rib cage. This injury has forced the actor to take a break from work and meet-and-greets, to rest and recover at home.
Despite the pain and discomfort, Bachchan has shown remarkable resilience, and even managed to step out of his home to shoot for an advertisement recently. He also updated his fans through his blog, stating that he was “off to work…a few limps and slings apart…but striding on”. However, despite his enthusiasm, it will be a while before the actor can return to the sets of “Project K”.
According to a family friend who spoke to ETimes, Bachchan saab wants to get back to normal shooting soon, but the healing process is slow. “One cannot take risks at his age”, said the friend. The actor’s age is indeed a factor, as recovering from an injury becomes more difficult with age. However, Bachchan’s spirit is still high, as he continues to update his fans and followers on his progress through social media.
When the injury occurred, Bachchan took to his blog to share the news and explain the extent of his injuries. He wrote, “Strapping has been done and rest been advocated, yes painful, on movement and breathing, will take some weeks they say before some normalization will occur. Some medication is also on for pain. So all work that was to be done has been suspended and canceled dropped postponed for the moment until healing occurs.”
Fans and well-wishers of the actor have been sending their love and prayers for his speedy recovery. Bachchan is a true icon in the Indian film industry and has been entertaining audiences for over five decades. It is hoped that he makes a swift and complete recovery and returns to the silver screen soon.
