The much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster hit, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ starring Allu Arjun, has encountered a temporary setback as the shooting schedule has been deferred due to the National Award-winning actor’s health issue.

Reportedly, the filming of ‘Pushpa 2’ has been postponed for two weeks owing to severe back pain experienced by Allu Arjun during the shooting schedule. According to Hindustan Times, the actor, in a ‘jatara get-up’ for a song and a fight sequence, suffered considerable discomfort due to the attire and the physically demanding scenes. Despite his willingness to continue, director Sukumar opted to halt the shoot to prevent exacerbating Allu Arjun’s health.

A source cited by the news portal revealed, “Bunny was game to continue shooting despite it but Sukumar decided to take a break instead of affecting his health further. Shooting will pick up again once he recuperates.”

‘Pushpa: The Rise,’ written and directed by Sukumar, stormed the box office in 2021, addressing the narrative of red sandalwood smuggling. Allu Arjun’s commendable performance in the film earned him the prestigious Best Actor National Award.

Earlier this year, the actor shared the first-look poster of ‘Pushpa 2,’ featuring him donning a saree, adorned with striking shades of blue and red, along with ornate jewelry and accessories. Subsequently, Fahadh Faasil’s character look poster was also unveiled, heightening the anticipation among fans eagerly awaiting Rashmika Mandanna’s character reveal.

Adding to the sequel’s ensemble, Sai Pallavi has reportedly joined the cast, and speculations abound about the inclusion of a Bollywood actor, yet to be officially disclosed.

Initially slated for a December 2023 release, the film’s premiere was recently rescheduled to August 15, 2024, teasing a grander cinematic experience for audiences eagerly anticipating the sequel’s arrival.

Stay tuned for further updates as the production of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ resumes after Allu Arjun’s recovery.
