Ajay Devgn Recalls Acting Without Scripts in the 90s Bollywood Era

According to Ajay, during the early 90s, it was common for directors to provide actors with a general idea of a scene and then allow them to improvise their lines and actions without a specific script.

In a recent interview, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn reminisced about the 90s era of Bollywood films, sharing how he acted in many movies without a specific script. He also talked about his experiences when writers used to come to narrate the story and present their script as if he was giving an audition. Ajay, who delivered many hits in the 90s including ‘Phool Aur Kaante’, ‘Jigar’, ‘Suhaag’, ‘Diljale’, ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’, and ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ among others, compared that period with today’s filmmaking techniques.

According to Ajay, during the early 90s, it was common for directors to provide actors with a general idea of a scene and then allow them to improvise their lines and actions without a specific script. He also mentioned that he has acted in such films himself.

Ajay appeared on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ with Tabu and Deepak Dobriyal to promote his upcoming film ‘Bhola’. During the show, he shared his experience of writers enacting the entire scene while explaining it to the actor as if he were auditioning.
