After a brief hiatus due to Varun Dhawan’s leg injury, the highly anticipated action entertainer “VD18” is back on track. Varun Dhawan and renowned director Atlee are set to resume shooting for their upcoming project, which has generated significant buzz among fans and the film industry alike.

Varun Dhawan, who has now fully recovered from his leg injury, is ready to don the role of a police officer in this mass entertainer. Alongside him, the film features the talented Keerthy Suresh and Jubilee actress Wamiqa Gabbi as the leading ladies. Atlee, known for directing blockbusters like “Theri,” “Mersal,” “Bigil,” and the recent Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Jawan,” is at the helm of this project. The film is set to captivate audiences with its compelling storyline, powerful performances, and high-octane action sequences.

The second schedule of “VD18” commenced today in a Mumbai studio, promising major dramatic and emotional scenes between Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh. Additionally, the production team plans to film some intense action sequences during this schedule, which is expected to run until October 15th. The film is slated for completion by December, with a target release date in theaters set for May 2024.

Behind the scenes, Atlee’s wife, Priya Atlee, is producing the film in association with Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios. Tamil filmmaker Kalees, known for his work on “Kee,” has been entrusted to direct the movie. The screenplay, co-written by Atlee and Sumit Arora, who penned the massy dialogues of “Jawan,” holds the promise of a gripping cinematic experience.

Following his role in the Atlee mass entertainer, Varun Dhawan is expected to dive into a comedy directed by his father, David Dhawan, slated to begin early next year. The actor is also in discussions for a romantic comedy with Dharma Productions, although details are yet to be finalized. Fans can also look forward to Varun Dhawan’s Amazon Prime series, “Citadel India,” scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2024.

“VD18” is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of 2024, and the return to the set marks an exciting chapter in its production, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its theatrical release.
