With the Ram Charan, Jr. NTR starrer RRR gaining massive momentum internationally, the film has also made it to the Oscars. The team is quite excited for the upcoming Academy Awards 2023 and before that they have also been interacting with the global media and speaking about the film. In a recent interview with AFP, S.S. Rajamouli addressed the topic of propaganda films as well as the debate between religion and liberalism, and how cinema influences to take ahead these concepts.

In the interview, S.S. Rajamouli firmly asserted that he doesn’t believe in having ‘an agenda’ behind filmmaking and his idea is to make films which are value for audience’s money.  He said, “Any extreme point of view, I oppose. I don’t have any kind of hidden agenda… I make films for people who are willing to pay their hard-earned money on the film ticket. I like to get them entertained, make them feel dramatic about the characters, about the situations, have a good time, go back and live their lives.” He went on to speak about how aims at creating ‘larger-than-life characters, situations and drama in cinema’ adding that he believes in making heroes, who hold nothing back while delivering the action sequences.

In an earlier interview too, the filmmaker had maintained that his films do not cater to the extremist audiences and that he has never been approached to make films on these subjects. The filmmaker also had insisted that he being an atheist, he stayed away from religion and pseudo-liberalism concept, with his agenda only being to entertain the audience with larger-than-life cinema.
