In a perplexing turn of events, the makers of the much-anticipated action-packed thriller, “Salaar,” find themselves in a quandary over its release date. With considerable stakes and a multi-language release on the horizon, the film’s release date remains elusive, leaving the film’s future hanging in the balance.

Netflix, the digital rights holder of “Salaar,” has proposed a November release, a suggestion met with opposition from distributors who have their sights set on a different timeline. The makers are primarily focused on capturing the Hindi and Telugu theatrical markets, which further complicates matters.

In the Telugu circuit, producers and distributors are at odds over a Christmas or Sankranthi release, citing a crowded schedule with numerous films in the pipeline. They advocate for a 2024 release, while potential buyers are hesitant to invest substantial sums if “Salaar” debuts outside of the holiday season, leading to a drop in asking prices.

Adding to the film’s challenges, a special song featuring Prabhas is yet to be shot, and this will take place upon the actor’s return from Europe. Furthermore, rumors suggest that director Prashanth Neel is contemplating reshooting certain portions of the film.

“Salaar,” a high-voltage actioner directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films, stars Prabhas and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. With the film’s release date still shrouded in uncertainty, the industry and fans alike eagerly await clarity on this much-anticipated cinematic spectacle. As the various stakeholders continue to grapple with these obstacles, the fate of “Salaar” remains an intriguing and evolving narrative.
