It has truly been a historic moment for RRR with the film receiving international acclaim and accolades. From S.S. Rajamouli to Jr NTR to Ram Charan, stars of the film have been interacting with the American media post their big win at the Golden Globe Awards 2022. During their conversation, the stars not only discussed their film and their iconic song ‘Naatu Naatu’ but also spoke about their love for Hollywood cinema. While filmmaker Rajamouli couldn’t stop gushing about meeting Steven Spielberg, Ram Charan turned fanboy of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

Speaking to the USA Media, Ram Charan confessed that Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise inspired him. “I never missed any Brad and Tom films,” he admitted. “They were [both] somebody I looked up to when I was young. When I saw them in Once Upon a Time In Hollywood and Top Gun: Maverick, I felt like they don’t age at all. They are the same. Tom, for 38 years he has looked the same and he’s only getting better and keeping us so close to him as fans of his.”

The actor recalled about the Golden Globe winning song, ‘Naatu Naatu’ and his experience whilst filming for the same in Ukraine. Ram stated that, “I had an injury on the set, off the camera. I had a ligament tear. My ACL tore. It was a second degree tear. I was off the set for three months. I was doing rehab, getting ready, and right after I came back we went straight to Ukraine to shoot the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song. I was scared to death whether I could pull it off.”

In relation to the script of RRR he added, “I felt the sense of a roller coaster ride and different genres coming together. It was action, drama, and a bit of thriller as well as musical too. It was so difficult for him to bring so many genres together and make it convincing and hit it out of the park like this.”

Set in the pre Independence era, RRR traces the journey of two unlikely friends, an honest cop who is on a hunt for an alleged criminal and a rebel who is set out to disobey every government order, as they become each other’s support system in the fight for justice.
