Nayanthara speaks about life after marriage, “Nothing has changed for me”

Lady Superstar Nayanthara will soon be back on the big screens with her upcoming film Connect. As the release is around the corner, the actress is leaving no stone unturned for the promotion of it. In one of her recent conversations regarding the film, Nayanthara opened up about her life after tying the knot with Vignesh Shivan and embracing motherhood.

Speaking with Dhivyadarshini aka DD, Nayanthara asserted, “Why are there restrictions for women? I feel it’s wrong. Why is it a topic that women can’t work after marriage? Men go to the office the next day after weddings. Marriage is not an interval point. It makes you fulfilled and settled in life. When you feel that, you want to achieve more. I saw that mindset in all the women I have met so far.”

The critically-acclaimed actress further added, “Nothing has changed for me. It is a beautiful beginning of a new phase of life. My life is only better because of my support system. I can achieve more, understand films better and do more. There should not be any rules. Marriage is beautiful. Why can’t you celebrate it?”

For the unversed, Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara tied the knot on June 9, 2022, after dating for years. The duo registered their marriage six years back, on March 11, 2016, and welcomed their twin baby boys through surrogacy in October 2022.

Coming back to Connect, directed by Ashwin Saravanan, besides Nayanthara, the film stars Sathyaraj, Anupam Kher, Vinay Rai and Haniya Nafis in crucial roles. It is worth mentioning that Connect, which is slated to release on December 22, has no intermission and has a runtime of 99 minutes.

On the professional front, Nayanthara has a bunch of exciting projects in the pipeline, including her first collaboration with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for Atlee’s film Jawan.
