Mahesh Babu made waves with the announcement of his collaboration with Walt Disney Studios to voice Mufasa in the Telugu adaptation of the musical drama “Mufasa: The Lion King.” The actor has now officially joined the project, bringing the iconic character of Mufasa to life on screen in Telugu.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mahesh Babu unveiled the highly anticipated Telugu trailer of “Mufasa: The Lion King,” showcasing his powerful rendition of Mufasa’s character. From the very first frame, his unique tonal mastery promises to mesmerize audiences, perfectly capturing the regal essence required to command the role of a king like Mufasa.

On August 21, 2024, Walt Disney officially confirmed Mahesh Babu’s debut in the iconic film franchise, marking a significant milestone as the Tollywood icon steps onto the global Hollywood stage for the first time. “Mufasa: The Lion King,” scheduled for worldwide release on December 20, 2024, will feature Mahesh Babu lending his voice to a key role.

Joining Mahesh Babu are other esteemed personalities from South cinema who will voice pivotal characters in the film. Brahmanandam will voice Pumbaa, while Ali takes on the role of Timon, adding their own flair to this eagerly awaited adaptation.

Expressing his joy at the opportunity to voice such an iconic character, Mahesh Babu shared his admiration for Mufasa, describing him as a compassionate father figure who guides his son. He also praised the compelling narrative that portrays the orphaned king’s journey to becoming a revered leader of the jungle.
