Actress Janhvi Kapoor is currently busy promoting her upcoming film ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’. Ahead of the film’s release, the actress made a special visit to a temple in Chennai to seek the blessings of the deity.

Janhvi visited the Muppathamman Temple in Chennai, which holds a special significance as it was a favorite place of her late mother, the legendary actress Sridevi. Sridevi often visited the temple to seek the blessings of the divine.

Janhvi shared several pictures from outside the temple on her Instagram. In the pictures, she can be seen wearing a floral print lehenga with a sleeveless blouse, looking absolutely stunning. She draped the dupatta in a saree style and kept her hair open to maintain a simple yet elegant look, completing her traditional look with necklaces and bangles.

Janhvi captioned the photos, “First time at Muppathamman Temple. This was my mom’s favorite place in Chennai.”

In these pictures, Janhvi was accompanied by her mother Sridevi’s close friend Kajin Maheshwari Ayyappan.

Actor Varun Dhawan commented on Janhvi’s post, “Aunty really does look like your sister.”

Janhvi Kapoor is the daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and the late actress Sridevi. Sridevi passed away in 2018 at the age of 54. Janhvi also has a sister, Khushi Kapoor, who started her acting career with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’.

The story of ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ is based on cricket. It will feature Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi playing cricket.

In this film, Rajkumar’s character ‘Mahendra’ is an unsuccessful cricketer who loves playing cricket. His dream was to become a big cricketer and play for the country, but due to family pressure and other reasons, his dream cannot be fulfilled. He tries to fulfill this dream through his wife, Mrs. Mahi, who is a doctor by profession but hits amazing shots and sixes while playing cricket. Society, family, and mindset work to hinder this dream. Janhvi worked hard for the film and sweated profusely during cricket training.

Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao’s pair was earlier seen in the horror-comedy movie ‘Roohi Afzana’.

‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ will hit theaters on May 31, 2024.

Speaking of the work front, Janhvi will make her Telugu debut this year with the Junior NTR starrer Devera: Chapter 1. She will also appear in Ulajhan and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
