Samantha Ruth Prabhu to Play Priyanka Chopra’s Mother in Citadel India, Confirms Report

The buzz around Priyanka Chopra‘s Citadel series continues to grow, with fans eagerly awaiting more content. The latest update causing a stir on the internet is the news of Samantha Ruth Prabhu joining the Citadel universe and playing the role of Priyanka Chopra’s mother in Citadel India.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has confirmed her role as the mother of Nadia Sinh, portrayed by Priyanka in Citadel. The report states that the Indian and international versions of Citadel are set in different eras, with Priyanka’s character being a child and Samantha playing her mother. The source revealed, “It’s like saying Tabu played Irrfan Khan’s mother in Life Of Pi. They didn’t even meet during the shooting.”

Raj and DK, known for their work on The Family Man, will direct Citadel India. The duo has previously collaborated with Samantha Ruth Prabhu for the second season of The Family Man, further building anticipation for their upcoming project.

In the fifth episode of Citadel, Varun Dhawan provided the voice for Nadia’s father, Rahi Gambhir, with the makers acknowledging his contribution in the end credits. With Samantha’s character revelation, it is speculated that both she and Varun could be portraying younger versions of Priyanka’s parents in Citadel India.

After attending the premiere of Citadel in London, Samantha Ruth Prabhu expressed her gratitude for being part of the spy verse. She wrote a heartfelt note stating, “Truly humbled to be amongst some of the world’s best at the Global Premiere of Citadel in London… I feel truly lucky and blessed to be part of this team and the Citadel Universe.”

Citadel, helmed by the Russo Brothers, features Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in lead roles. The series has gained immense popularity worldwide and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. As for Samantha Ruth Prabhu, she was last seen in Shaakuntalam and is preparing for the release of Kushi, which also stars Vijay Deverakonda.
