Actor Ram Charan is set to be honoured with an esteemed accolade. He will receive an honorary doctorate from Vels University in Chennai on April 13. This recognition adds another distinguished achievement to his illustrious career. Previous recipients of this honour include Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Director Shankar, and other notable personalities.

Since his debut in 2007 with “Chirutha,” Ram Charan has garnered praise for his performances across various films. His mantlepiece boasts Nandi Awards, Filmfares, South Indian International Movie Awards, and more. Notably, he was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Awards in the Best Actor category for his role in “RRR.”

Vels University is renowned for acknowledging exceptional individuals from diverse fields. Ram Charan will be recognized for his significant contributions to the entertainment industry and entrepreneurship. Other distinguished awardees will join him, including Dr P Veeramuthuvel from ISRO and Dr GSK Velu, Founder and CMD of Trivitron Healthcare.

The song “Naatu Naatu,” composed by MM Keeravaani and penned by Chandrabose, even secured an Oscar and a Golden Globe.

Presently, the actor is filming “Game Changer,” directed by Shankar, featuring Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah, Anjali, Sunil, Naveen Chandra, and others. Scheduled for a Dasara release in September, an official release date is yet to be announced. Additionally, he has committed to a rustic sports drama alongside Janhvi Kapoor, helmed by Buchi Babu Sana of “Uppena” fame. The film, which will feature music by AR Rahman, is set to commence filming soon.
