Abhishek Bachchan, one of Bollywood’s most acclaimed actors, is known for his quick wit and sharp tongue when it comes to dealing with trolls and online bullies. The actor recently took to Twitter to praise the team behind the upcoming film, Ponniyin Selvan 2, directed by Mani Ratnam, and also lauded his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, for her performance in the film. However, a netizen’s comment asking him to let Aishwarya sign more movies prompted a sharp response from the actor.

Abhishek’s tweet read, “#PS2 is simply FANTASTIC!!! At a loss for words right now. So overwhelmed. Well done to the entire team #ManiRatnam @chiyaan @trishtrashers @actor_jayamravi @Karthi_Offl and the rest of the cast and crew. And so, so proud of Mrs Her best by far. #AishwaryaRaiBachchan.” In response, a user wrote, “As you should! Now let her sign more movies and you take care of Aaradhya.” Abhishek, not one to back down, clapped back with a simple yet powerful statement: “Let her sign??? Sir, she certainly doesn’t need my permission to do anything. Especially something she loves.”

Abhishek, who has been in the industry for over two decades, has faced his fair share of criticism and scrutiny but has always maintained his composure and dignity while responding to naysayers. He has proved his acting prowess time and again in films like Yuva, Sarkar, Bunty Aur Babli, Guru, and Dasvi, among others. Despite facing box office failures and negative reviews for some of his films, the actor has always bounced back and delivered memorable performances.

Abhishek made his Bollywood debut in 2000 with JP Dutta’s Refugee opposite Kareena Kapoor and has since starred in numerous films, carving a niche for himself in the industry. He was recently seen in a cameo in Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa and is set to feature in R Balki’s Ghoomer, co-starring Saiyami Kher.

Abhishek’s response to the netizen’s comment highlights the importance of respecting an individual’s autonomy and agency, especially in the context of women’s choices and decisions. His assertive yet respectful retort serves as a powerful reminder to online bullies that their regressive attitudes and beliefs have no place in today’s society.
