Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, and Kamal Haasan Grace San Diego Comic-Con

Indian cinema is set to create history as the much-anticipated film “Kalki 2898 AD” becomes the first-ever Indian movie to make its debut at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in 2023. The event witnessed the presence of eminent actors Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, and Kamal Haasan, along with megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who joined the event via video call.

The panel discussion at the SDCC showcased the first sneak peek of “Kalki 2898 AD,” where the film’s futuristic setting was unveiled, featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone as fierce warriors in a war-like situation. The sci-fi fantasy thriller, helmed by talented director Nag Ashwin, is slated to release in January 2024.

The excitement surrounding the film escalated as the first look of Prabhas was earlier revealed. Titled the ‘Rebel Star’ of the movie, Prabhas stunned fans with his appearance donning metal armour, dreadlocks, and a rugged beard.

While Amitabh Bachchan couldn’t attend the event in person, he expressed his admiration for Kamal Haasan, who plays a significant role in the film. Bachchan praised Haasan’s commitment to each project and spoke highly of his impressive filmography. Amitabh shared the joy of collaborating with Kamal Haasan and deemed this film as special.

In a lighter tone, Kamal Haasan recollected his experience as an assistant director on the iconic film “Sholay,” admitting that he couldn’t sleep the night he watched it because he disliked the film and its filmmaker. However, Haasan was thrilled by the opportunity to work with a great filmmaker like Amitabh Bachchan and expressed his surprise at the legendary actor’s kind words about his films.

Before the San Diego Comic-Con, the film’s makers made a splash in New York City’s Times Square by teasing the audience with a billboard showcasing the message, “First glimpse on July 20.”

As the anticipation for “Kalki 2898 AD” continues to build, fans eagerly await the release of this epic sci-fi fantasy thriller, which promises to be a cinematic marvel featuring a stellar cast and a captivating storyline. With Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan coming together, “Kalki 2898 AD” is undoubtedly one of the most-awaited films of 2024.
