Namrata Shirodkar reveals the reason behind quitting films: “Mahesh Babu was very clear that he wanted a non-working wife”

Mahesh Babu is one of the biggest superstars in the Telugu industry and his wife Namrata Shirodkar is not only a former beauty queen but also a popular Bollywood actress. However, the actress has not appeared on the big screen ever since her marriage. In an interview, the actress confessed that she did not take up any acting projects because her fiancé – husband was clear that he didn’t want a working wife.

In a recent interview, former actress Namrata Shirodkar revealed that she and Mahesh Babu were clear on certain things post marriage. While she refused to stay in a bungalow because she was used to Mumbai apartments, he was sure that he wanted a housewife. Namrata said, “Mahesh Babu was very clear that he wanted a non-working wife. Even if I was working in some office, he would have told me to leave work.”

She continued, “There are certain things we had for each other. We were very clear that we will live in an apartment first after marriage because I was from Mumbai and I didn’t know how I would fit into these huge bungalows. I used to get scared, so he moved into an apartment with me. That was my condition that if I’m going to come to Hyderabad I will live in an apartment. Similarly, he was also clear that he didn’t want me to work.”

She concluded it by adding, “It is also the reason why we took some time so that I finish shooting for all my films. When we got married, I had no work. I wrapped up all my pending movies. We were clear. There was a lot of clarity among us.”

Furthermore in the interview, the actress also confessed that she has no plans of returning to acting either. She maintained that she doesn’t have the patience to leave her house and shoot on the sets of a film.
