Superstar Rajinikanth is back on the sets of the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial, Jailer.

Superstar Rajinikanth is back on the sets of the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial, Jailer. As he kicked off New Year with work, another star actor has joined the cast. After Mohanlal and Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has been cast in the film in a special role. The announcement was made on Sunday, February 5.

Sun Pictures posted on Twitter on Sunday and wrote, “Jackie Shroff from the sets of #Jailer.” Shroff has previously worked with the superstar in the 1987 movie Uttar Dakshin and the 2014 animated movie, Kochadaiiyaan.

In addition to that, several reports earlier revealed that Mohanlal joined the film in January 2023 for a special role. Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar will also have an important role in the actioner.

Jailer will also see Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan in pivotal roles. Produced by Sun Pictures, music composer Anirudh Ravichander is on board. The film is expected to release in theatres on April 14, 2023, during Tamil New Year.
