The much-awaited science-fiction spectacle ‘Ayalaan,’ starring Sivakarthikeyan alongside Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, and Isha Koppikar, drops an enthralling 2-minute and 19-second trailer, heralding its grand release in theatres on January 12, 2024, coinciding with the festive fervour of Pongal.

Directed by R Ravikumar, ‘Ayalaan’ embarked on its cinematic journey in 2018, encountering setbacks attributed to financial constraints, actor commitments, and the challenging landscape posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. With an impressive count of 4500 visual effects shots, this film holds the distinction of being India’s most visually extensive cinematic endeavour to date.

The trailer opens with glimpses of Sivakarthikeyan’s character, Raghu, rooted in a rural Tamil Nadu setting, intertwined with fleeting shots of Sharad Kelkar portraying the primary antagonist. A turn of events introduces a mysterious green alien, unseen to the naked eye, hitchhiking a ride with Raghu, driven by a mission to avert catastrophic planetary peril.

Amidst this cosmic adventure, the trailer introduces Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead, marking Isha Koppikar’s return to Tamil cinema after 23 years. The alien’s voice, lent by Siddharth, adds an intriguing layer, weaving witty dialogues and forging an alliance with Raghu in combating adversaries.

Anticipation mounts as the trailer unfolds, showcasing impressive VFX shots, hinting at an immersive cinematic experience crafted by the filmmakers. The mesmerizing musical score by AR Rahman seamlessly aligns with the film’s thematic essence, enhancing its visual splendour.

‘Ayalaan’ orbits around a science-fiction narrative, portraying a group of friends allying with an extraterrestrial being, pitted against hostile scientists determined to thwart its plans.

Apart from the core cast, the film features an ensemble including Bhanupriya, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, Bala Saravanan, and more, essaying pivotal roles, and elevating the film’s narrative depth.

Nirav Shah’s cinematography and Ruben’s editing further enrich the visual and storytelling brilliance, setting the stage for a captivating theatrical release on January 12.

As ‘Ayalaan’ promises an unparalleled blend of visual grandeur and a compelling storyline, audiences eagerly await its arrival, geared up for an otherworldly cinematic escapade.
