After the controversies surrounding Om Raut’s Adipurush, director Nitesh Tiwari has opened up about his upcoming Ramayana film and expressed confidence that it will not offend the audience. Earlier reports suggested that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were set to star in the roles of Lord Rama and Sita in the film.

Adipurush faced criticism for its dialogues, VFX, and costumes. The film featured Prabhas as Raghav (based on Rama), Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Raavan), and Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Sita). The dialogues were later revised by the makers in response to the backlash and calls for boycotts.

In a recent interview with Zoom Entertainment, Nitesh Tiwari addressed the controversies surrounding Adipurush and shared his perspective on making a film on Ramayana. He stated, “My question is very simple. I am also a consumer of the content that I create, and if I’m not going to offend myself, then I’m very confident that I might not end up offending anybody else.”

Regarding the casting rumours of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in his Ramayana film, Nitesh Tiwari neither confirmed nor denied the reports but hinted at an upcoming announcement, saying, “Very soon.” Om Raut had previously shown support for Nitesh’s project and emphasized that multiple films based on Ramayana could enrich the storytelling landscape.

Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Bawaal, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The trailer of Bawaal received mixed reviews, with some viewers expressing confusion over its comparison between a love story and World War II. The characters in the film embark on a trip to Europe, exploring cities like Paris that were significant during the historical event. The trailer frequently references the “world war within,” adding a unique twist to the narrative.

As fans eagerly anticipate Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana film, the director’s confidence in delivering a respectful and engaging retelling of the epic tale offers hope for a compelling cinematic experience without causing any offence.
