Vijay Sethupathi talks about his viral physical transformation pic; says, “I was not confident”

In December 2021, South sensation Vijay Sethupathi broke the internet after he shared a mirror selfie, in which his physical transformation was evident. Speaking of the same, Vijay, who is currently busy with promotions of his web debut project Farzi, shared the story behind it.

It all happened during his conversation with IndiaToday, where he revealed that it was his friends during a product shoot, who encouraged him to share that picture. In his words, the actor asserted, “Actually, we did a product shoot where I clicked a selfie and showed it to my friends. Generally, I don’t post personal photos but my friend said to post them and so I did. I did not expect such a reaction.”

The Super Deluxe actor further elaborated, “I did not post the pic for body transformation. My friend said ‘it is nice and you never post anything.’ I was not confident but I still posted.” The actor then went on to say that after seeing the reactions, he cannot skip the gym anymore.

“The response from the fans has made me go like ‘yaar, abhi main mota nahi ho sakta’. It is a must for me to work out now. Generally, I miss night workouts during shoots because of work pressure sometimes. I am a very sensitive person, so I get hurt and then decide to not do anything. I am very vulnerable that way,” said the actor. He signed off by saying, “The response from the audience has made me want to hit the gym every day now.”

Coming to the professional front, the 45-year-old actor, as mentioned earlier, is promoting his upcoming web series Farzi, which will also feature Shahid Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon, and Raashii Khanna. He will also be seen locking horns with Shah Rukh Khan in the Atlee directorial Jawan, which is scheduled to release on June 2.
