South Indian star Rashmika Mandanna has officially signed on for a new film alongside Vijay Deverakonda, reigniting excitement among fans of the popular on-screen pair. The two previously shared the screen in the blockbuster hits Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. Now, after a six-year hiatus, they are set to reunite for a new cinematic venture.
Tentatively titled #VD14, the film is a period drama helmed by Rahul Sankrityan, best known for directing Shyam Singha Roy. Set against the backdrop of the British era, the film promises a rich and dramatic narrative, with production expected to commence soon.
Rashmika was reportedly drawn to the project after hearing the script. With her schedule clearing up following the completion of recent projects—including the Bollywood film Thama, Dhanush and Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa, and Rahul Ravindran’s The Girlfriend—she was able to commit to the role.
Fueling further buzz, Rashmika recently took to Instagram to wish Vijay a warm and affectionate birthday message, calling him “Vijju,” a gesture that has only added to the speculation surrounding their off-screen relationship. Their reunion—both professionally and potentially personally—has fans eagerly awaiting the release of #VD14, making it one of the most talked-about upcoming films in South Indian cinema.
