We all know the kind of fame RRR witnessed in the international market with the film winning constant praises and accolades. Adding to the list is yet another set of prestigious awards that the Telugu action period drama went on to win at the recently held Hollywood Critics Association Awards 2023 (HCA Awards 2023). Readers would be aware that the team of the film is currently in the USA to attend several award functions including the upcoming Oscars 2023 next month. And the HCA Awards were received by filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli along with the leading man Ram Charan as well as by music composer M.M. Keeravani. However, Jr. NTR was missing from the ceremony.

RRR won awards for Best International Film, Best Action Film, Best Stunts and Best Original Song for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film. The award speeches given by S.S. Rajamouli, Ram Charan also won hearts at the awards functions. In fact, the official social media page of the HCA Awards 2023, shared the speeches given by the team of RRR after the win. In his speech, after receiving the award for Best Stunts, S.S. Rajamouli said, “I must first thank all my choreographers – Solomon who put in lots of efforts to compose all the stunts, Juji who helped in climax action sequences, and all other stunt choreographers who worked very hard. Some of them came to India, understood our working style and even changed their style to suit ours.”

He went on to add, “I also thank my wonderful actors Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. In the innumerable action shots, I can hardly think of 3-4 shots which had body doubles. They did the rest of the stunts by themselves.” He continued, “It is the combined efforts of my entire team and we put 320 days of hard work to make this film.  In fact, most of the days were taken by the stunts. This recognition means a lot to not just me or my film but the whole Indian film industry. Hope we have these wings to fly further. Lastly, to my country itself, a land of wonderful stories.”

On the other hand, while accepting the award for Best International Film, Ram Charan accompanied S.S. Rajamouli on stage after the latter invited him to do so. Adding about he didn’t think he would come on stage, Ram Charan expressed his gratitude towards receiving this honour and said, “Thank you so much for giving us all this love. It is a great responsibility that you have given us. So we are going to come back with better films to entertain you all.”

With the way RRR ruled the awards night with several honours, the HCA Awards 2023 decided to present the Spotlight Award to the team of the film.
