Jr NTR indirectly talks about being trolled for his fake accent at Golden Globe Awards 2023

For the past few days, Indian cinema has been celebrating the RRR win at the Golden Globe Awards 2023. Post the massive win, the stars including Ram Charan and Jr NTR were being interviewed by the American press and media. Some viral interviews of the star featured Tarak speaking in an accent. The internet did not react to it kindly and trolled the superstar for his ‘fake accent’. However, the star seems to have given a subtle and indirect response to the brutal trolling online in a recent interview.

Readers would recall that Jr NTR was interviewed by many popular American press and media. His videos that have been circulating online featured him speaking in an accent, which led to social media users reacting to it. Followed by the massive trolling, in an interview with the LA Times newspaper, Tarak was seen talking about the difference between actors in the West and in the country. He said, “We are just divided by time zones and a little bit of an accent. Other than that, what an actor goes through in the West is exactly the same process as in the East.” Many considered this as a response to the trolls that have been doing the rounds.

On the other hand, in the same interview, Tarak also gushed about his director S.S. Rajamouli and appreciated his love for the craft of filmmaking. He added, “I always felt this man was not destined to make only films in Telugu or in India. He is one of those rare phenomenons who can travel the globe with his films. With each film, he’s only gotten better. I feel that RRR was his plan of taking the West. What makes us very proud is that a small industry from South India, Tollywood, and one movie called RRR could open the gates to global cinema and bring us here.”

RRR featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the role of a cop and rebel is set in the pre Independence era. Along with Alia Bhatt, Alison Doody, Ajay Devgn, among others playing pivotal roles, the film was released in India in March 2022.
