In a much-anticipated move for cinema enthusiasts, the filming of “Thandel,” directed by Chandoo Mondeti and starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, has officially begun in Udupi. This eagerly awaited project, reportedly inspired by true events, has kickstarted its journey in the world of entertainment.

The Times of India reports that the Udupi schedule is expected to be extensive, covering significant portions of the film involving key members of the cast.

Naga Chaitanya’s Transformative Role

Naga Chaitanya, portraying a fisherman in “Thandel,” is gearing up for a gripping action sequence at the Malpe Fort in Udupi. Sporting a rugged appearance with long hair and a beard, he is set to collaborate with multiple skilled fighters for this pivotal scene.

Star-Studded Commencement

The film’s pooja ceremony was graced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and Venkatesh Daggubati, signifying a promising start to the project.

This marks the second collaboration between Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya, following their successful pairing in Sekhar Kammula’s “Love Story.” Produced by Bunny Vas under GA2 Pictures, Chandoo Mondeti’s directorial venture is generating substantial anticipation.

Real-Life Inspiration and Dedication

Based on the events of 2018 in Srikakulam, “Thandel” draws from real-life incidents, with music by Devi Sri Prasad. Naga Chaitanya’s commitment to the role is evident in his extensive preparation and immersive transformation, embodying the essence of his character.

His recent debut in the web series “Dhootha,” directed by Vikram K. Kumar, received acclaim. His portrayal of journalist Sagar in this supernatural narrative, alongside a stellar ensemble cast, showcased his versatility as an actor.
