Amravati: As the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh completes its first year in power, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has given the green signal to one of his flagship promises — the “Talli Ki Vandanam” scheme, a key component of the TDP-led alliance’s much-publicised “Super Six” agenda.

In a move that combines symbolism with substance, the scheme will be officially launched tomorrow, offering a landmark welfare measure for mothers across the state. Government sources confirmed that ₹8,745 crore will be directly credited to the bank accounts of mothers — a gesture timed to showcase the administration’s commitment to its electoral vows.

Under the scheme, 67 lakh mothers will benefit, each receiving funds linked to the number of school-going children they have. In total, 67,27,164 students are expected to be covered under this initiative. The scheme encompasses students enrolled in Class 1 through Intermediate First Year. For those still in the admissions process, the government has clarified that once enrollment data is finalised, the corresponding amounts will be disbursed.

A government order (G.O.) issued today outlines the operational blueprint for the scheme, ensuring clarity and transparency in its execution. The move comes as a morale booster for the administration, which has been steadily ticking off the promises listed in its manifesto.

So far, the Naidu-led government has delivered on four out of the six “Super Six” commitments: a hike in social pensions, revival of Anna Canteens, the Mega DSC recruitment drive, and the Deepam-2  cooking gas subsidy scheme. With “Talli Ki Vandanam” now joining the list, the momentum behind the welfare-centric governance model appears intact.

Political observers see this rollout as more than just a welfare scheme — it’s also a strategic reaffirmation of the coalition’s intent to consolidate its grassroots support, especially among women voters.

As Andhra Pradesh prepares to watch crores flow directly into maternal bank accounts starting tomorrow, the message from Amravati is loud and clear: Naidu’s governance is not just about promises made — it’s about promises kept.
