Samantha Ruth Prabhu heavily trolled for her accent at Citadel Premiere

Post Shaakuntalam, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been busy with Citadel. The actress recently graced the Citadel premiere in London. While she looked absolutely stunning in an all-black ensemble, few of the netizens trolled her for her accent while interacting with the media in the event.

A video of Samantha has gone viral, she is seen talking about being part of the Indian version of Citadel. However, netizens found her accent ‘fake’ and many trolled her on Twitter.

Another user wrote, “What’s with these Indian actors? When they travel to the US, why does a different accent kick in?” Others also shared that the actor’s accent is different from her original one.

Citadel marks Samantha’s official debut in Hindi. Helmed by The Family Man directors Raj and DK. Citadel is an espionage action series created by the Russo brothers’ AGBO. The original series stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in lead roles.

For the unversed, Samantha also has a Telugu film Kushi in the pipeline. The actress is sharing a screen with Vijay Deverakonda in the film which marks their second collab after Mahanati. The film is scheduled to release on September 1.
