Natural Star is gearing up for his much aniticipated pan-India film, Dasara. He has been to various cities to promote the film. He along with the team of Dasara launched the trailer in Lucknow. During one of the interviews Nani credited SS Rajamouli & the team of RRR for setting a benchmark as the film created history by bagging Oscars for Best Original Song Category for ‘Naatu Naatu’. Nani also supported SS Rajamouli for calling RRR a south film.

During his interaction with Free Press Journal, Nani was asked to share his take on SS Rajamouli calling RRR a Telugu film and not a Bollywood film. Nani responded by saying, “It is not wrong. It is a Telugu film primarily. If a film is made in Telugu, you can’t say it is made in Hindi or the rest of the country. We are in a generation where whatever you say will be quoted wrong. If you even say the nicest or most positive thing, it can be perceived as wrong.”

Earlier while speaking at the RRR screening held by the Directors Guild of America, Rajamouli has stated, “RRR is not a Bollywood film; it is a Telugu film from the south of India, where I come from.”

Nani further explained how RRR has given global validation to the South Indian film industry. He said, “More than setting a benchmark, Rajamouli sir has opened our eyes. Earlier, we thought, no one will watch if we release a Telugu film in other Southern states but he proved it. Then, we thought, who will watch our films across the country but Rajamouli proved it with Baahubali. And now we won an Oscar for RRR. He made us a little smart in dreaming big (laughs).

Coming back to Dasara, made by debutant director Srikanth Odela, it is set to release on March 30. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Keerthy Suresh and Deekshith Shetty. The film will have a Pan-India release.
