Sithara Entertainments is teaming up with Fortune Four Cinemas, for VD12, starring Vijay Deverakonda, a film written and directed by Jersey filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri. Srikara Studios will present the film jointly bankrolled by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya. The makers announced the project, which has been titled VD12 temporarily. The poster hints that the yet-to-be-titled venture will be a periodic cop drama.

The makers announced VD12 by unveiling a poster featuring a quote that reads ‘I don’t know where I belong, to tell you whom I betrayed’ that is signed by ‘Anonymous Spy’. The poster features a silhouette of a cop covered with a cloth on his face along with another image of a burning ship in the middle of a water body, placed on the bottom of the poster. It seems that a that the film will be set against the backdrop of a fire incident. Prior to the project announcement, producer S Naga Vamsi wrote, “We are not going to say that this is earth-shattering or MASSive or HUUUGE but this is something spectacular.”

On the other hand, a source close to the film too spoke about the collaboration, adding, “Gowtam Tinnanuri has proved his worth across Telugu and Hindi industries. His Jersey, which was released in 2019, won the Best Feature Film in Telugu and Best Editing awards respectively. The director promises to unveil a new dimension to Vijay Deverakonda with this film. When this exciting talent teams up with an equally capable performer like Vijay, there’s bound to be immense curiosity and the makers are confident that the director-actor combo will surpass the expectations of film buffs.”

The shoot for VD12 is expected to commence soon and more details about the cast and crew will be announced shortly. Vijay Deverakonda, who was last seen in the multi-lingual action drama Liger, is expected to don the khaki on-screen for the first time in his career.
