Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan starrer Shaakuntalam postponed again

Telugu actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to kick off 2023 with an upcoming film, Shaakuntalam. The film starring Dev Mohan, which was supposed to release last year, was postponed to February 17, 2023. Now, the makers have announced the film has been postponed again. They plan to announce the new theatrical release date soon.

Sri Venkateswara Creations took to their official Twitter account to inform the fans that the film stands postponed. The statement read, “We regret to inform our beloved audience that we would not be able to release Shaakuntalam this 17^th of February. We would be announcing the release date soon. Thank you for your continued love and support.”

The film also has a star cast consisting of Sachin Khedekar Kabir Bedi, Dr.M.Mohan Babu Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla and Jisshu Sengupta in pivotal roles. Another added attraction to the star cast is icon Star Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha portraying the role of Prince Bharata.

Presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations in collaboration with Gunaa Teamworks, produced by Neelima Guna, and written & directed by Gunasekhar, the film will release in 3D.

The story of Shaakuntalam portrays the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata, portrayed by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan. Shaakuntalam is based on internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play “Abhijnana Shakuntalam” which is set to release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam & Kannada.
