Producer K Muralidharan passes away in Tamil Nadu after suffering from a heart attack

K Muralidharan, a famous producer of the South Film Industry, died at his hometown in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu due to a heart attack. For the unversed, apart from being an established producer, he was also the President of the Ex-Tamil Producers Council. With the association of his partners, the late V Swaminathan and G Venugopal, he had started his production banner, Lakshmi Movie Makers, through which he produced several major hits such as Ambe Shivam, Pudhupettai and Bagavathi.

South superstar Kamal Haasan paid a heartfelt tribute to K Muralidharan through his verified social media. He wrote in a tweet in Tamil, “Producer K Muralidharan of Lakshmi Movie Makers who made many hit films is no more. Dear Shiva, I remember those days. Tribute to him.”

Meanwhile, actor-director Manobala also tweeted, “Shocking, shocking news LMM Murli is no more…RIP.” The comments section of both tweets is flooded with condolence messages.

K Muralidharan started his production venture back in 1994 with the film Aranmanai Kavalan, starring Sarathkumar. Talking about the late producer’s production banner, Lakshmi Movie Makers has given numerous commercially successful films with some of the biggest stars of Tamil cinema. K Muralidharan had worked with A-listers like Kamal Haasan in Anbe Sivam, Vijayakanth in Ulavathurai, Karthik in Gokulathil Seethai, Ajith in Unnai Thedi, Vijay in Priyamudan, Dhanush in Pudhupettai and Simbu in Silambattam.

The last film of Lakshmi Movie Makers was Sakalakala Vallavan starring Jayam Ravi, Trisha and Anjali and it was released in 2015.
