There is no denying the fact that South actors enjoy a massive fan following. Recently, Tamil stars Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar clashed at the box office as Varisu and Thuvinu released on the occasion of Pongal 2023. Post the release of both films, tragic news came from Chennai and left many shocked. A 19-year-old Ajith fan lost his life while celebrating the release of Thuvinu.

Speaking of the same, renowned director Lokesh Kanagaraj asked fans to be careful and responsible with their life while celebrating their favourite actor’s film. It all happened during a media interaction. He also requested the fans to see the film as just a cinema and entertainment and added that there’s no need to lose one’s life while celebrating a movie

A report by Indian Express quoted him saying, “It would be good if fans realise their responsibilities and act accordingly. This is just cinema and there’s no need to lose your life for it. It is only for entertainment and they should watch films happily and go back home responsibly. I believe one needn’t risk life for the sake of celebrations.”

For the unversed, a huge crowd, including Ajith and Vijay’s fans, had gathered outside the Rohini Theatre Complex in Koyambedu since midnight on Wednesday. Bharath Kumar, 19, of Chintadripet, who is a fan of actor Ajith, climbed on the top of a moving lorry and danced in celebration. He, reportedly, fell from the lorry and broke his spinal cord. He was rushed to Government Kilpauk Hospital immediately where he died in the early hours of Thursday.

Coming back to Thunivu, directed by H Vinoth, it also stars Manju Warrier, Veera, Ajay, John Kokken, Prem, Bucks, Samuthirakani and Mahanadhi Shankar, among others. Thuvinu and Varisu have collectively bagged over Rs 150 crores at the box office.
