Kantara (Telugu) earns Rs 10 crores in just 2 days!

Kollywood is in its best form now, several superhits films are coming back to back from the Kannada film industry this year.
‘Kantara’ (The Mystical forest) is a 2022 Kannada action thriller film Written, directed and acted by Rishab Shetty that was funded by Hombale films Vijay Kiragandur who funded ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. The film was released on 30th September in Kannada, and was released on 14th October in Telugu, and is said to be in no mood to slow down at the Tollywood box office.

The film has been reported to have minted over Rs 10 Crores in Telugu and Rs 100 crores from all the other language versions. The film was distributed in Telugu by Allu Aravind’s ‘Geetha Arts’ which has gained momentum in Telugu states now. It has been lauded for its performances and background score besides action episodes. The film talks about the Rural God and their belief system and their fight for land and forest products, is drawing crowds in Andhra due to its positive word of mouth.

Rishab Shetty is not a known name in Tollywood, to that matter, 90% of its cast have unknown faces except Kishore Kumar in the film. The film’s cinematography was handled by Arvind S. Kashyap, with B.Ajaneesh Lokanath scoring its music while the action sequences were choreographed by two-time national award-winning Viram more.
