Kamal Haasan to back Silambarasan TR’s next film

A day after dropping a hint about their upcoming film, the Kamal Haasan-owned production banner finally made an official announcement of its collaboration with Silambarasan TR. On March 9, the verified social media handle of Raaj Kamal Films International dropped the announcement video and it is tentatively titled film called STR 48. Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadhithaal fame director Desingh Periyasamy will be directing the upcoming flick.

“An alliance forged to push frontiers of success & across generations,” tweeted the production banner along with its 30-seconds-long announcement video. Although the video has not unveiled the look and story details of the STR 48, it has left fans excited. Meanwhile, Simbu also shared the same motion poster and wrote, “Dreams do come true.”

Reacting to the motion poster, a fan wrote, “Thalaivan STR on fire mode,” while another called it “exciting.” The comments section was flooded with fire and red-heart emoticons.

Speaking of the project, it is said that the film will mark the first collaboration between Silambarasan and Anirudh Ravichander. For the unversed, the latter has composed for Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Indian 2. Besides this, Raaj Kamal Films International had earlier announced that Kamal will be teaming up with Mani Ratnam for a project, which will be his 234^th film.

Coming to the professional front, Haasan is currently busy with the shoot of Indian 2. He recently shared a picture from the sets of the film with the action design team. Helmed by Shankar, Indian 2 is expected to be released this year. Meanwhile, he will also be returning as Vikram in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Vikram 2.
