Chandramukhi 2: Kangana Ranaut couldn’t stop gushing about Jyothika in the prequel

We all know that Kangana Ranaut has kicked off work on Chandramukhi 2, which will mark her second Tamil project after Thalaivii. The film will feature her in the role of courtesan-dancer at a King’s court which was originally essayed by Jyothika in the Rajinikanth starrer in 2005. From taking dance workshops to mastering the character, Kangana had to undergo extensive prep for the P. Vasu directorial. Recently, she took to social media to talk about the challenging role and appreciated Jyothika for her flawless performance in the prequel.

In a recent post shared by Kangana Ranaut, who has returned to the social media platform Twitter, the actress shared an old interview of the Tamil actress. Jyothika, in a 2019 interview, had spoken about how much she appreciates and loves Kangana as an actress. Reposting the same, Kangana explained the challenges she has been facing as she is essaying the character of Chandramukhi. In her tweet she wrote, “That’s encouraging, as a matter of fact I am watching Jyothika ji’s iconic performance in Chandramukhi almost every day because we are shooting the climax it’s nerve wracking, how astonishing she is in the first part!! it is practically impossible to match up to her brilliance.”

Talking about Chandramukhi 2, the film will feature Raghava Lawrence as the male lead. The film is expected to have gone on floors in January. A source close to the actress had earlier mentioned about the actress being excited for this project saying, “Kangana is thrilled to do her next Tamil film after huge acceptance for Thalaivii and looking forward to this very cinematic character.”

Besides Chandramukhi 2, Kangana Ranaut also has Tejas and Emergency in the pipeline for release.
