Bigil actor-director duo Thalapathy Vijay and Atlee Kumar in talks for an action entertainer

2023 is going to be an eventful year for popular filmmaker Atlee Kumar, given that in the first month of the year, he embraced fatherhood. A section of the audience is eagerly waiting for his upcoming release, Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan. In fact, he is also in talks with some top Telugu names too like Jr. NTR and Allu Arjun. Amid all of this, he is also planning to reunite with Thalapathy Vijay for an action entertainer.

For the unversed, Atlee Kumar has donned the hat of the director for a few of the Vijay Thalapathy starrers, including Mersal, and Bigil. Post Vijay’s appearance at director Atlee’s wife Priya’s baby shower in December, several media reports speculated that the actor-director duo is said to reunite after Vijay completes the shoot of Leo, directed by Lokesh Kangaraj. Shedding some light on the rumours making rounds on the internet, a report by Pinkvilla has stated that Vijay and Atlee are in talks for an upcoming action entertainer.

A source close to the development informed the portal, “Atlee has got the idea okayed from Thalapathy Vijay and also the producers. He will work towards locking the screenplay soon as the idea is to take the film on floors from September/October this year. The film will be Atlee’s next directorial after Jawan, which is presently on the floors. While the idea is green lit, the paperwork will happen only after the release of Jawan.” The source also added that Jawan’s shoot will be wrapped by March.

Speaking of the production banner, earlier, it was reported that Bigil producer AGS Entertainment has bankrolled the film. However, the report claims that Sun Picture will be producing this upcoming film. The source concluded by saying, “The film will most likely feature Vijay in lead, until and unless something terribly goes wrong on the casting front in the next few months.”

If everything goes well, it will be Vijay and Atlee’s fourth collaboration.
