During the success event of “Tillu Square,” the sequel to the 2022 film “DJ Tillu,” fans of NTR Jr caused a stir by urging actress Anupama Parameswaran not to speak, diverting attention from the film’s achievement. Despite lacking leading stars, “Tillu Square” managed to amass a remarkable ₹60 crore in just 12 days at the box office.
The presence of NTR Jr. as the guest of honour drew a massive crowd to the event, shifting the focus away from “Tillu Square’s” success. Fans clamoured for the Telugu superstar to take the stage, disrupting the proceedings. When Anupama Parameswaran, the film’s heroine, stepped forward to deliver her speech, she was met with impatient protests from NTR Jr. ‘s enthusiastic fans, who demanded she refrain from speaking.
In response to the audience’s reluctance to hear her, Anupama asked, “Should I talk or not?” Disheartened by the overwhelming ‘No’ from the audience, she gracefully acquiesced, stating, “Okay, I am not going to talk.” Despite attempts by the event host to encourage her to speak, Anupama was repeatedly urged to remain silent.
Eventually, Anupama conveyed her gratitude in a brief statement, acknowledging the love from the audience and expressing her excitement about sharing the stage with NTR Jr. She later took to Instagram to express her admiration for NTR Jr. and director Trivikram Srinivas, emphasizing the privilege of sharing the stage with the esteemed actor.
The incident, captured on video, quickly went viral on social media, sparking criticism of the fans for their disrespectful behaviour towards Anupama in the name of fandom. Many users condemned the interruption, praising Anupama for her poise and maturity in handling the situation.
