Rakshit Shetty‘s mesmerizing romantic drama, “Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side B,” emerges as one of Kannada cinema’s highlights from the past year. Directed by Hemanth M Rao, the film, released on November 17th, replicated the success of its predecessor, becoming a blockbuster.
Since its release, SSE Side B has garnered substantial acclaim, with cinephiles praising it as one of the most impactful romantic dramas in recent memory. In a surprise move, the film silently debuted on Amazon Prime Video on the night of January 25th, treating audiences to its compelling narrative.
“Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side B” marks the second collaboration between director Hemanth M Rao and Rakshit Shetty, following their debut collaboration, “Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu.” The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Rukmini Vasanth, Chaithra J Achar, Achyuth Kumar, and Ramesh Indira.
Set a decade after its predecessor, SSE – Side B follows the journey of Manu (played by Rakshit Shetty), who embarks on a quest to find his lost love, Priya (played by Rukmini Vasanth). Uncovering Priya’s struggles and unhappiness due to her husband’s business loss during the COVID-19 pandemic, the film explores how Manu endeavours to assist her.
Rakshit Shetty, also the producer under Paramvah Studios, weaves a captivating tale with music by Charan Raj, cinematography by Advaitha Gurumurthy, and editing by Sunil S Bharadwaj and Hemanth M Rao.
Looking ahead, Rakshit Shetty, after the success of SSE, is set to make a directorial comeback with “Richard Anthony” after nearly a decade. Beyond directing, he has written and acted in the film, featuring prominent names like Rishab Shetty, Kishore Kumar, and Achyuth Kumar. Additionally, there are reports of his involvement in another project titled “Thugs of Malgudi,” alongside Kichcha Sudeepa, although official confirmation is awaited.
