‘RRR’ sets new record with over 1 million views in Japan, becoming the first Indian film to do so

Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ has been creating ripples in the entertainment industry since its release last year. Now, the movie has yet again made headlines, as it has become the first Indian film to cross 1 million footfalls in Japan.
The Ram Charan and NTR Jr-starrer film has garnered over 1 million views in Japan within 164 days of its theatrical run, a feat that has been lauded by fans worldwide. The official Twitter handle of RRR Movie shared the news and expressed their gratitude towards the audience, who have shown immense love and support for the movie.
The film’s director, S.S. Rajamouli, expressed his gratitude to the Japanese audience and wrote, “1 million hugs from Japanese fans.. Arigato Gujaimasu, hashtag RRR in Japan”.
The film, which also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran, tells the fictional story of two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, and their fight against the British Raj. The movie has been widely appreciated for its gripping storyline, stunning visuals, and exceptional performances by the cast.
