Directed by the celebrated Trivikram Srinivas, the film made its box office entry on January 12, coinciding with the Sankranthi celebrations. Despite facing stiff competition from titles such as “HanuMan,” “Saindhav,” and “Naa Saami Ranga,” “Guntur Kaaram” managed to carve out a respectable niche for itself in the cinematic landscape.

Marking the third collaboration between Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram Srinivas, following the successes of “Athadu” and “Khaleja,” “Guntur Kaaram” has elicited a mixed reception from critics. Nonetheless, the film experienced a steady box office performance, mainly thriving in Andhra Pradesh compared to Telangana and overseas markets. Producer Naga Vamsi affirmed this trend during a press conference, noting the film’s relative success.
The narrative follows the journey of Ramana (Mahesh Babu), a notorious figure from Guntur, as he navigates his complex familial ties. Estranged from his mother, played by Ramya Krishnan, Ramana’s life takes a tumultuous turn when his grandfather, a politician portrayed by Prakash Raj, demands he sever all connections with her. Defiant, Ramana embarks on a quest to unravel the truth behind his mother’s abandonment two decades prior.
