Venkatesh Maha, known for C/o Kancharapalem, is reuniting with actor Satyadev after their collaboration on the 2020 film Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya for their new project, Rao Bahadur. On Tuesday, the first look of Satyadev from the upcoming film was released, and the internet was quick to notice how unrecognisable the actor looked in the poster. Here’s what people had to say.
Satyadev’s First Look in Rao Bahadur
Venkatesh Maha, sharing the poster on X (formerly Twitter), wrote, “Here he is…The man who’s been living in my head for the past 5 years. Presenting to you @ActorSatyaDev as Rao Bahadur.” He added, “Remember, అనుమానం పెనుభూతం (Doubt is a monster).” Satyadev also took to social media, sharing his excitement, calling it ‘mental mass’ and writing, “Coming to you as A never before. Mental Mass Rao Bahadur.”
The Poster Breakdown
The first look of Satyadev shows him in elaborate prosthetic makeup, portraying an elderly king. He is adorned in gold, diamonds, and pearls that drape his lilac ensemble. The most striking accessory is a gold glove, with bushy eyebrows and a thick moustache concealing much of his face. Behind him, peacock feathers serve as the backdrop, and children are seen climbing his hair, cape, and turban, giving him the appearance of a giant. Despite the grandeur and opulence, there is an eerie sense of decay creeping through the image.
The Public’s Reaction
The unrecognisable appearance of Satyadev in the first look has sparked mixed reactions online.
